PSRS PARIS: April Songwriting Atelier Full!
We’re very excited for our first Songwriting Atelier in Paris and we’re even more excited that it’s been so popular! Enrollment is now full…thanks to all those who were interested and we promise to do more in the future.

End Of An Era
PSRS was very sad to hear that Southpaw, one of Brooklyn’s premiere rock clubs, was closing its doors for good. Mikey and the crew at Southpaw hosted two of our final concerts for PSRS and we had a blast. Gentrification can be a drag. Check out a video below of one of our bands playing the stage in 2009. RIP!

PSRS BKLYN: Original Music Available to Download!
PSRS puts a lot of emphasis on developing and promoting original music with all of our bands, semester after semester. On January 29th, our fall semester bands hit the Bunker Studio for a lesson on recording techniques and the chance to record their original song. The results are astounding.

PSRS BKLYN: Bunker Studio Recording Session
After a hugely successful final show at Rockwood Stage 2, our Brooklyn students entered the studio to record their original songs from this past semester. The Bunker Studio, a new 3,000 sq ft. recording studio in Williamsburg, was an amazing host for the day. Co-owner Aaron Nevezie was at the helm, giving our students a lesson in how the studio works and getting them to play some great takes....

Paris Rocks the House
This past Saturday, four bands took the stage for our first ever Park Slope Rock School PARIS end of semester concert. Playing to a packed house of 100 people, our students brought their best and friends and family were not disappointed! Now it’s Brooklyn’s turn to answer the call. This Sunday will rock again…

PSRS Brooklyn launched our new Band Development Program this semester in order to help established bands perfect their sound, develop original material, and provide recording and performing opportunities. FLITE has been working hard at all of this and will showcase their new material at one of Brooklyn’s best rock venues, Union Hall.

PSRS Benefit Show September 18th!
Mark your calendars! Michael Thurber, one of our esteemed PSRS teachers, will be hosting a benefit concert for PSRS on Sunday, September 18th from 3-5pm at Rockwood Stage 2. There will be several guest performers, many of them familiar faces at PSRS, as well as a couple appearances by some of our awesome student bands.

Our very first summer camp was a smashing success! Students in two different bands spent 5 days learning about the craft of songwriting, shared presentations on their favorite bands and, most importantly, penned some amazing original songs. FALL 2011 ENROLLMENT OPEN

FLITE Wins NYC Battle of the Bands...Again!
PSRS is very proud of FLITE, one of our veteran bands, for winning the NYC Battle of the Bands competition for the second year in a row. Jack Ellrodt, Ian Silverstein, Sabrina Kentis and Asa Miller brought their best to the Arlene’s Grocery stage, performing some awesome original music, and they were rewarded for their hard work with a top place prize. Rock on, FLITE.
